Job Description
Location: Iyana Ipaja, Lagos
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Bag Maker is responsible for bringing each design to life, sewing and assembling finished bags that meet the construction and quality standards of the brand. Working directly from the patterns, samples, and technical instructions provided by the Pattern Maker, the Bag Maker translates flat pieces into structured, durable, well-finished products. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role at the heart of production. It requires strong sewing skill across a range of techniques, precision in cutting and assembly, and the consistency to reproduce the same high standard across every unit in a production run. The right person takes pride in clean finishing and understands that quality at the sewing stage is what defines the final product.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Cut and sew bags accurately from supplied patterns, samples, and technical instructions.
Assemble structured pieces — panels, gussets, linings, and reinforcement — to a clean, durable finish.
Attach hardware, zips, straps, and fastenings correctly and securely.
Follow construction sequences and specifications consistently across production runs.
Maintain neat, even stitching and a high standard of finishing on every unit.
Flag pattern, material, or construction issues to the Pattern Maker or Production Manager early.
Meet daily and weekly production targets without compromising quality.
Keep the workspace, machines, and tools clean and in good working order.
Support the 450-unit production plan across the 3 core designs.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 2–3 years' experience sewing bags, accessories, or structured products.
Strong skills in industrial sewing machines (and other relevant machinery).
Ability to work accurately from patterns, samples, and technical instructions.
Good understanding of bag construction — structure, reinforcement, and finishing.
High attention to detail and consistency across repeat units.
Ability to work to production targets and deadlines.
Reliable, focused, and able to work well within a production team.
